Burn is book two in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series by Chelle Bliss. This is the continuation of Pike and Gigi’s story and starts immediately where book one left off.

Pike and Gigi are in love, a place neither of them expected to be, especially Pike. They’ve only technically been a couple for about two weeks but it’s been one thing after another for this couple. Add to that, Pike is up against Gigi’s father who seems to hate him. He wants to earn his respect and his blessing but it feels like this is something that just isn’t going to happen. I love the way that Gigi stands up to her father, though.

“Darlin’, I’d carry the weight of the world on my shoulders for you.”

Pike’s father has been the cause of so much pain in his childhood and it seems as though he just can’t get away from it. He will do anything to protect Gigi but the trouble just keeps finding them and his father is always at the root of it. And, now he has to worry about his seventeen year old brother. He is only ten years older than his little brother but because of their father, they have become strangers. Pike knows that this is their chance to get to know each other again.

Gigi’s cousin, Tamara is in this one a lot more. She is the focus of the third book in the series so the author is giving us this chance to get to know her. She’s the wild child and yes, she definitely lives up to that label. I struggled with her a bit. Her antics are completely adolescent for a twenty year old. I didn’t like the way she acted around Pike’s little brother. I thought it was humorous that Pike and Gigi now feel like they are an old couple, having to be the voice of reason to both his brother and Tamara, spoiling all the fun.

The second half of the book things really kicked up and I was flipping the pages. I really do love these two together. The little time they were together was so intense, I feel like they lived several years in those few weeks, making them a stronger couple. And I loved the way the Gallo family just wrapped their arms around Pike and his brother, giving them what they needed, love. Even though for Pike, it took awhile to get to that point with Gigi’s father.

This is a fun, suspenseful book that I did enjoy. The third book in the series, as I said, is Tamara’s story and is called Wildfire.

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“I ain’t dying, fool. I’m like Iron Man. The bullets bounce off.” Bear pounds on his chest, trying to prove his manhood.

Bear winces as his eyes soak me in. “He looks like hell,” he argues. James glares at Bear, slapping him in the chest with the back of his hand… Bear shrugs. “Wasn’t joking. Look at him.” He throws out his arm toward me. “If hell had a look, it would be that.”

She shrugs, giving me a smile. “My life is so boring. Like, if white paint had a life, the shade would be Tamara.”

My Review:

This volume was action-packed and filled to the brim with smirk-worthy sizzle and sass, licentious humor, volatile family issues, life-threatening peril, bad-boy biker attraction, brassy levity, and only a small bit of slightly over the top melodrama. Sigh, I loves me some Chelle Bliss.

A wonderful conclusion to a great story!

I really enjoyed the second part of Gigi and Pike's story. This was a sweet, sexy and steamy love story with a captivating storyline and I was fully invested in how the fate of these two would turn out. The Gallos are truly something else. And It was fun to reconnect with all these amazing characters. I loved seeing Joseph alias City as a dad. He was exactly as expected over the top protective when it comes to protect his little baby princess. If like me you were a fan of the original Men of Inked Series, then you’ll enjoy the spin-off series Men of Inked: Heatwave featuring the second generation. I’m very much looking forward to Tamara’s story especially as we also get to know more about the badass biker, Crow.

Alpha male all the way. Sexy as hell. Very protective and very sweet. This was a continuation of book 1. I loved the sexual energy between the two characters. Great family as always in Chelle's books

Burn is the continuation of Flame. Gigi and Pike are back in the thick of drama and suspense. There’s a little romance that brings them together but like the first book there is too much drama going on in the book for me to really enjoy it.

Chelle didn’t waste time getting back into their the story. We’re thrust back into the chaos without building on anything. The storyline is still the same where as Pike’s brings chaos and violence to GiGi and her family kept bailing them out.

I was hoping to have more fondness for the characters in this second book but sadly I didn’t connect with any of them. To me, the charm of Chelle’s past books and characters just wasn’t there. I struggled with liking City in this book! (Which I loved BTW) GiGi was a bit annoying. She seemed a bit bratty and demanding. Pike was ok and I know his charm was meant to win you over but his “darlin” for kinda tiring.

Her cousin and his brother didn’t help. I understand that the characters are younger in this book but doesn’t have anything to do with liking a character. As with the first book we are left with more answers. It seemed like when they solved a problem a new one sprouted up. Also, like the first book we are left with a cliffhanger ending.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This duet was amazing to entertain me in the last couple of days.

Burn pick up exactly where Flame ended and this time, we have more about Pike's family and background.

Again I loved how everyone is so involved in their story and I think I'll stop with this series now, so I can read the original inked guys, because damn it... They're amazing working together!

The pace is also the same and the you feel like watching a movie or a reality show, because there's always diverting happening on their days and nights.

Near the end, it was more like an opening to the next book than about Pike and Gigi, and that bothered me a bit.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration... 🎧

Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke, did an amazing job with Gigi and Pike!
No crazy accents and with the right amount of lightness. Love it!

We are back with Gigi and Pike exactly where we left them .. in big trouble. The main thing I love about all these books is the family love and it continues in this duet. Pike is the rough to Gigi's smooth, he knows he's not good enough for her and Joe makes sure he doesn't forget it. Daddy Joe is just what I wanted but boy oh boy he mademe laugh so hard. I loved than when trouble came all the crazy Gallo men stepped up. If you think they'd have mellowed with age forget it they are NUTS. Seeing Gigi and Pike buidling something permanent despite all the opposition they face made me really happy. They are a seriously hot entertaining couple. Another great story.

Gigi and Pike are back with enough drama to give any daytime soap opera a run for their money! Ya’ll … these two attract trouble like bees to honey! Not gonna lie, on more than one occasion all I could do is just laugh because it was a lot. However, it wasn’t OTT. It felt natural for Pike and Gigi to have this kind of life. Crazy, chaotic and passionate . That’s the best description I can come up with for them, and entertaining. Let’s not forget entertaining because there was never a dull moment. I said this before, the story’s energy sparked from the beginning. It wasn’t just the story itself, Gigi and Pike sparked. These two kids were just perfect. One of the best second generation stories/journeys I have ever read. I can't wait to find the time to #bingeread the first generation but more than that, I can't wait to read on with this generation!

Sidenote: Thank you for the ending. I laughed, very loudly, for a full minute!

5 star Review Burn (Men of Inked: Heatwave #2) by Chelle Bliss

AUDIO REVIEW:
Before you read Burn, you need to have read Flame as this is the continuation of Gigi Gallo and Pike Moore’s story. I have always loved Gigi’s character and have enjoyed watching her grow into a feisty, smart, independent young woman.

Narrated by Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor, this was a fast paced, hot, steamy story full of surprising twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat.  In my opinion Jason Clarke was in my opinion was the perfect choice for Pike; he really brought Pike to life for me and sent shivers up and down my spine with his performance. Samantha Brentmoor also did a fantastic job in bringing Gigi to life, her voice was perfect and she certainly did justice to Gigi.

There was humour, suspense, drama, angst and so much chemistry between Gigi and Pike that one was in danger of being burnt.

I have always loved the dynamics of the Gallo family, their stories are full of love of family and what they will do for each other and those they love. Although this series is about the next generation of Gallo’s , be assured the original sill a force to be reckoned with.

I loved that in Pike, Gigi has found a man just as stubborn, loyal , passionate and independent as she is. These two are perfect for one another and I am beyond thrilled that they fought so hard to be together.

I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

A Chelle Bliss read never fails to stir my heart and rock my soul--but with this book, she did even better. Gouged my gut even deeper. Made me feel even more. Life throws the proverbial book at these two, and they work hard to come through the twists and turns together. That doesn't mean they do it without tiffs and misunderstandings, just like real people, but they make the conscious choice to prioritize each other, and to push past their emotional limits to do so. The burn is that good for them--and their love is that special to earn it. I especially loved how the secondary characters helped both of them become better people, especially Pike's scene-stealer of a little brother, as well as the whole, colorful Gallo clan. Overall, Ms. Bliss has absolutely, irrevocably, done it again. I'm addicted to the Men of Inked, and cannot WAIT for my next hit.

Burn is typical Florida, hot, dirty, sexy, and sometimes dangerous!

Second generation Gallos might be a little sexier, and definitely a little more dangerous than the original Men of Inked! Back to Pike and Gigi, they run into an issue with Pike's father when he tries to steal something that used to be his.

When Thomas, James, and Joe get involved to help they are ambushed by an MC that knew Thomas 20 years ago when he was undercover with the Sun Devils MC. Pike knows he can't let Gigi lose her Dad because he screwed up, so Pike does the honorable thing, but in this the honorable thing might actually get him killed.

Gigi and Pike are so sweet together, and Burn is non-stop action that doesn't let up even on the last page! An awesome book that also allows us to get to know Tamara, Lily, and Austin a little better, while completing the story of Gigi and Pike that started in Flame.

Oh my lawd..... this book was AH-MAZE-ING!!! I thought Flame was a wild ride but nothing compares to the mind-blowing twists and turns that left me utterly speechless! Pike and Gigi's story was filled with suspense, drama, laughs and the true meaning of family whether by blood or heart! These two definitely didn't have it easy but then again, that's what makes their bond unbreakable. I hate to see their story come to an end but I love knowing that we'll see them pop up in many of the future Gallo books. Can't wait for the wild adventure Tam Tam's book will take us on!

This books is so beautiful I absolutely love the Gallo’s bunch. Always have. Just when I think Chelle can’t outdo herself she proves me wrong again and again. I couldn’t put this book down I devoured it. And I want so much more. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. I know it’s going to be an epic ride! Make sure you read Flame before you read this book. I wasn’t a huge fan of the follow up to Flame. I enjoyed the first book but this one just didn’t keep my attention. I found the story to be lacking and didn’t connect with the characters. I also feel like there are misogynistic undertones throughout the whole book that I just didn’t jive with. I don’t think I’m invested enough at this point to continue the series.

Sigh https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OGC.33...

Where do I even start??

I enjoyed the 1st book but this one fell flat.
Pike and Gigi's relationship didn't seem to grow for me. I got that they loved each other but I never felt it.
There was just too much going on and there was probably only a handful of times where Pike and Gigi were truly alone because her family was always just there 💔.

Tamara was so unbearable so I will not be reading her book. Some of her actions were so immature and I couldn't find myself liking her.

Idk man I felt like this book was so pointless and Chelle should've gone in a totally different direction instead of just focusing on the drama

Overall I did not enjoy this at all and I found myself skipping alot of parts toward the end just to finish and then it ends on a dumb cliff hanger, smh 🙄

BURN is the second half of Gigi and Pike’s story and I wished I would have enjoyed it more. It hurts my heart that it didn’t because I adore Chelle Bliss and her Men of Inked world.

This book and I … we didn’t click. Too much drama, too little bonding and romance for our couple. It’s more of the same back and forth with Pike causing trouble and Gigi’s family solving those issues. I felt like I could barely connect with the characters, which is an absolute shame.

I’ll still pick up the following books since I’ve loved everything by Ms. Bliss previously though, that’s not even a question.

Flame and Burn (Men of Inked: Heatwave 1 and 2) by Chelle Bliss
Narrated by Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor
Contemporary Romance, must be read together.

It had been a long time since I read a Chelle Bliss book, so I was excited she had a new series. I listened to the first few books in the original Men of Inked series years ago, and I didn’t catch that these are the 2nd (really 3rd) generation Gallos from that series. Luckily, It didn’t matter at all if I read the first series or not, because Flame and Burn by Chelle Bliss stood just fine on their own.
“Your Place or Mine?”
“I don’t have a bed.”
“Darlin’, I only need a wall”

Gigi is the spunky, very overprotected, kind of spoiled child of a couple from Chelle’s Men of Inked series. During college she snuck away for Spring Break in Daytona during Bike Week without her family knowing, and spent one hot week with a biker she met there before sneaking back to school without a goodbye.

Fast forward 15 months and Gigi walks into her first day of work at the family’s tattoo shop and noticed her station was set up right next to the hot new guy….Pike. He didn’t want to jeopardize his dream job, and she didn’t want her family knowing anything, so they pretended they didn’t know each other.

If you are new to the Gallo world, they are a big, Italian, very close, protective family, and once again, I really loved those family dynamics. Pike had nothing like that growing up so it was nice seeing him get his first taste of real family.

"I'd give anything to have just a small sliver of that goodness in my life."

Though Gigi started off a little too young and immature for my tastes, her sass soon grew on me. When Pike’s past catches up with him though, he not only puts Gigi in danger, but the whole Gallo family.

Gigi and Pike had combustible chemistry, so I see where the titles to these books come from! But along with all that chemistry there was a lot of action and humor that made this duet unputdownable. I loved the way Gigi was there to give Pike everything he never had, and how Pike was just the alpha Gigi needed.

All I can say is thank goodness I read this duet after both were released because Flame has a hell of a cliffy!

Likes:

•It kept me riveted to my headphones.
•It was super emotional while also being really freaking funny.
•Hot chemistry between the main couple.
•The very strong theme of family that runs throughout.
•The supporting characters were great.
•I never felt like I needed to read something before this, but if you did, you will love it even more.
•I love the covers of this series!

Dislikes:

•Gigi was a little young and immature for my tastes at the beginning.

The Narration:
You can never go wrong with Jason Clarke, but Samantha Brentmoor is kind of new to me, and she couldn’t have been more perfect for Gigi.

The Down & Dirty:
Flame and Burn by Chelle Bliss were everything I love in a book. They were sexy, fun, exciting, suspenseful and had a great group of family and friends. I fell for both Pike and Gigi in the end and I am looking forward to grabbing Tamara’s book next. I don't know why I haven't read more Chelle Bliss!
Rating: 4.5 Stars, 4 Heat, 4.5 Narration

Yesss! I have been waiting for this! Even though, it was wasn't a massive wait. It felt it because I so badly needed to know what the author had planned for the epic conclusion to Pike and Gigi's story. I fell in love with Gigi when she was first introduced into the Men of Inked series, and then I fell even more in love with her in Flame when the author gave us her own book and amazing story, and Pike? Well, I'm completely in love with him, more so after this book.

This picks up where Flame left us, and the author throws us into an insane, intense and addictive conclusion for this couple... Gigi is as sassy, feisty and strong as she was in book one if anything her character grows stronger and blossoms into this amazing heroine, that I couldn't help but love. Pike is still Pike, alpha as hell... He's so protective and will do everything and anything he can to keep the ones he loves safe, regardless of the outcome and when his dick of dad is in the picture, he has to do just that. What I did not expect were the emotions that came along with it. I... may have cried a little... JUST A LITTLE... I got so deeply invested in these two and everything about them that I couldn't help but get knocked on my ass with all the feels! Chelle knows how to keep her readers on their toes, she knows how to keep them second-guessing. Her way with words is magical and always grabs hold of me and holds my attention all the way through each and every book she releases, and this book was no different. It was truly amazing and everything and more that I wanted for Pike and Gigi!

Beautifully written, and with a storyline that consumed me from the start.

5 Stars!

Burn is Hot, Hot, Hot!!

As the second generation of Gallo children grow up and become young adults I find myself feeling older somehow!! But at the same time I am sooo in love with the younger generation and how they interact with the older generations of aunts and uncles and grand parents and I love the whole big sloppy mess!! Pike and Gigi have an intense chemistry and heat up the pages of this book with sexy love scenes when they aren’t in danger from unknown enemies due to Pikes father. When you factor in all the danger, sex, love, and family this is one intense read from cover to cover and I literally read most of this in one day on a plane ride across the country!!! I really loved this book so much and couldn’t put it down!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Heart has been broken and Mended by Chell, Mandy@ Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog

Burn Picks up where Flame left off with GiGi and Pikes story. And it has so much more emotion, Many trials and trying to keep those you love safe from the past sins of a “father” from touching the family you have found.

Chelle Bliss has a way of writing her characters with all the feels coming from them all. I love how she writes her alpha men with flair as well as her lady characters with sass for days. Truly an amazing author. I am patiently awaiting the next book in this series.

Can we get a brief Amen for this cover?!

If that was enough to draw you in, can we talk about how amazing this conclusion to Pike and Gigi’s story is?

These two take you on the ultimate ride with the past, present and future being threatened. So many twists and turns, lies and secrets get unveiled in this tale. If you’ve read the Gallo’s previously, you understand their brand of crazy and this book has no shortage of that.

Loving this series and I can’t wait for the rest of the clan to get their books!
